How can I get started with a Term Deposit?

  • You can call us on 0800 429 000 and let us know what you want. Once we confirm your name, membership number, and the desired term of your investment we can set it up for you in anticipation of your funds arriving.  You can then deposit into your Credit Union S1 account using your unique bank number.

  • If you already have money with the Credit Union, ring or e-mail us. We will transfer money from your account and open your term deposit straight away. You will receive a certificate confirming your term deposit details.

What if I have to break my Term Deposit?

If the unexpected occurs and you need immediate access to your funds you can break your deposit. This means that you will be paid the current Transactional Account (S1) interest rate on the amount that you withdraw.

When can I add more money to my term and how?

You can only add funds to your term deposit on the day it matures. As long as the funds are available in your Credit Union account on the day we can move it to your term for you. You can email us, call us on 0800 429 000 or use secure bank messaging via internet banking to let us know what you want. You can do this days, weeks or even months in advance and we will hold your instruction and process it on the maturity date.

What if I miss my maturity date and I am late in giving you a new instruction for my term?

Call us on 0800 429 000. We are here to help and are happy to take the time to work out how we can best assist you.
