February Update from our Chief Executive

Happy New Year! Well it looks like 2014 will be an interesting year - the economy (well at least inflation) appears to be on the up, economists arepredicting interest rate increases (sooner rather than later), house prices are supposed to stabilise (?), the Winter Olympics has started and we have NZ's General Election and all the campaigning that goes with that.

Here at your Credit Union, in 2014 we will be continuing to ensure we are giving you, our members, the best value we possibly can, along with excellent service.

In this issue of Bluenotes we are telling the story of a member who got into financial strife and how we helped them put a plan in place to rid themselves of their debt. With the ability to easily obtain finance from virtually anywhere nowadays, it is very easy for loans and credit cards to create stress and feel like they are out of control. It may be that the "interest free" period is due to expire and high interest costs and fees will be added to your loan or hire purchase. If this sounds like you, know that you are not alone, and call us to discuss consolidating all your debts into one loan with one repayment. We are here to really help you get back into financial shape.

You will notice on your statement an opportunity for you to complete a survey about us and go into the draw to win an iPad Mini. Please follow the instructions - the survey will only take you a couple of minutes but will provide us with valuable feedback. The winner of the iPad Mini will be published in the next edition of Bluenotes.

As always, you can contact me directly on 04 471 4850 or email helen.hatchard@policecu.org.nz

I wish you and your families a very happy and prosperous 2014.

Kind regards
Helen
