Next Meeting Date
Dates: First Tuesday in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December.
Time
: from 1100 to 1330 includes lunch followed by a guest speaker or entertainment.
Venue: The Royal New Zealand Police College, Papakowhai (Porirua).
Attendance:
Over 100 people attend the Christmas meeting held in December and overall there is an average attendance of 75-80 people per meeting. The Secretary or President should be advised of the intention to attend - for catering purposes. Parking is usually available within the Police College.
Note: if attending from out of town, check with Secretary or President as very occasionally the date of the meeting is changed due to unavailability of the venue.
Rules and History
The Wellington Retired Police Members’ Club has existed for some 30 years and operates under a written Constitution.
The Club’s Patron is Commissioner Howard Broad. Current Life Members are Tom Robbie, Nancy Thompson and (retired Commissioner) Bob Walton. Deceased Life Members are Lawrie Philpott and Bart Simmons.
The Club has a membership of 150. Membership is open to:-
Retired sworn and non-sworn members of the New Zealand Police.
Retired employees of the two New Zealand Police Service organisations and Police Credit Union.
Any person of good character who has resigned or otherwise left any of the aforementioned New Zealand Police, Police Service organisations, or Police Credit Union.
Honorary membership is open to:-
The spouse, son or daughter of any retired or former member of the New Zealand Police.
